Objective:
To expand my knowledge by reading, reviewing, and perusing books.
To familiarize myself with authors, titles, writing styles, genres, and philosophies.
Rationale:
I'm a lit teacher. And I read many many books. However, I can never remember much about the books I read. That's not so good if you are a teacher of books. This blog is an attempt to help store knowledge of literature in my long term memory.
Procedures:
1. Ask friends and students for book recommendations. If no suggestions are available, use book lists, amazon.com, the library catalog, etc.
2. Read the chosen book.
3. Write a book review based upon the rubric below.
4. Repeat this process as time permits.
Book Report Rubric:
Write 3-5 paragraphs regarding the book based on the three following categories: Reading Ease, Interest Level, and Depth.
